Silk
Silk, an Anglo-Arabian, found me when I wasn't looking. When I first met him at Rainbow's End Riding Academy, I thought we were just going to hang out and play some. I hadn't expected him to be a horse of such rare quality and character.
I found that Silk was a natural athlete. To go along with his physical ability, he was extremely intelligent, learning new lessons almost immediately. And most importantly, he had an incredible attitude. He was eager to learn, eager to work, approaching each new challenge honestly and openly. He didn't resist training, he demanded it, and made training fun and easy.
Each day with Silk was an adventure, and often we just headed to the trails, both of us on foot, to explore.
In May of 2004, Silk and I participated in a horse show at MTSU. He was ecstatic about the experience, wanting to see everything and everyone, completely full of himself. He looked great, and walked away with his first blue ribbon for jumping.
I think the reason I love Silk so much is that he is every bit as charming and fun on the ground as in the saddle. If I could choose an Equine partner, whether the criteria be beauty, ability, intelligence, or character, I would choose him.
